One of the most rewarding experiences one can undertake as a tourist in a new city is to wander about and sample new things and places. Below are some of the recommendations of the eating-places that might engage your senses in Vienna, Austria. Not many tourists know of the existence of some of these places. This will allow you to savor some of the delicacies in relaxed comfort without the swarming of tourists all around you.

First on the list is Kahlenberg, it has a spectacular view as it is on top of the hill giving you a great scenery. There are sun loungers where you can relax and a hotel that you can get a room and recover from the trip.

On the streets of Grinzing in Heuriger are great traditional Austrian restaurants, most of them charging very simple local prices but with very incredible delicacies. Ten minutes walk away from Grinzing is Am Himmel. It opens at three and sometimes only in the summer.

In case you need to relax after you walk, you could visit the Sargfabrik. It is an odd combination of restaurant, concert house, a bathhouse and living community in the city’s south. It is worth checking out if there is a special concert in the bathing house on one of the nights that you would like to try their restaurants because there is usually a limited access. Vienna has the food to suite every palate. If you are a budget traveler or an extravagant food connoisseur, you will certainly find the perfect restaurant to suit your fancy.

One of the things that you should not miss when sampling Vienna’s restaurants is the coffee. The coffee is traditionally of high quality. You can have coffee with the in-house made cakes that the restaurants have to offer. The favorite cafés are café Schönbrunn, Café Schwarzenberg, Café Griensteidl, Café Donmayer, Café Central and Café Prückel. The prices in these cafés vary but the slices of cakes are fairly cheap.

Apart from the Viennese restaurants, there is a whole array of Italian, Japanese and Chinese restaurants in Vienna. Some of these include the Dots Experimental Sushi, the stunning 7 Stern Bräu, stunning Amerlingbeisl, the setting of these is somewhat incredible and they have lovely food. If you love pizza you can try out the Pizza Mari, its an authentic Italian restaurant.
